Description:
A small, tapered-looking olive-brown or greyish-brown warbler. Olive-brown upperparts are spotted or streaked upperparts and longish graduated tail, indistinct supercilium, and unmarked or only lightly streaked underparts. Underparts have a yellowish wash in first-winter plumage.
Distribution:
Rare passage migrant through central parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, mainly in Gilgit and Diamer. Waterside vegetation, thick grass, tamarisk scrub, paddyfields and grassy slopes with scattered bushes, up to 2500m during passage migration.
Behavior:
Feeds while moving actively through low vegetation. Gleans from stems, working from top to bottom. Forages also on ground; searches among dead leaves. Diet mainly consists of small insects, including dragonflies, damselflies, mayflies, grasshoppers and also other invertebrates like spiders and some small molluscs.
